Pennsylvania's Biggest Energy Rebate creates AN UNPRECEDENTED OPPORTUNITY for Rebates on Energy Efficient Lighting
The much ballyhooed Act 129 is finally taking effect in Pennsylvania. The Act requires all Pennsylvania Electric Utility Companies to reduce electricity consumption and peak demand on their systems. It is a classic carrot and stick program. The stick, involves deregulation of energy charges (in other words LARGE) cost increases.
But the carrot is a rebate plan that provides for incentives in the form of rebates when purchasing a wide variety of selected energy efficient items. For example; HID lighting converted to a 4 Lamp T5 System, can get up to $117 rebate per fixture!
What’s more, the program is rebate plan is retroactive to July 1, 2009 and payouts will begin in March 2010. In other words, work started now will be reimbursed by next Spring.
New Horizion Lighting has a complete list of eligible fixtures and programs. Our consultants can also help you file the necessary paperwork. Sample audits with ACT 129 Rebate Value to the ROI are as follows:
- Distributing Company shortened the ROI from 22 years to 3.7 years
- Manufacturer shortened ROI from 33 months to immediate
- Car dealership shorted ROI form 3.3 years to 1.4 years
